A Trip to Pine Wood and Mangunan Fruit Garden in Bantul, D.I.Yogyakarta
In the beginning of September I decided to have a trip to Pine Wood in Imogiri, Bantul with my sister. That was the first semester of my sister's master program in Anthropology in Gadjah Mada University. I hadn't finished my minor thesis in my campus and i chose to take one more semester.
We went by the bus from Giwangan Bus Station. We were then directed to motorbike drivers to get to the location since we didn't know any direction. They were nice and helpful, we had no worry counting on them.
My first thought for the pine wood was that it wasn't really large and it was sort of full of tourist. The most of the visitors are teenagers with their selfie sticks. My sister and I didn't have much time and we only took some pictures from the same spot. We took a walk to another part of the wood where we found some view spots. These view spots were treehouse-styled and I thought it wasn't really safe to give it a try.
We had enough of looking around and capturing some of the best shots. We continued our trip to Mangunan Fruit Garden. It took apparently 10 minutes by the motorbike. The road to the location was kind of steep, especially after the main gate to the parking lot. Before we got there, I looked up in some social media of what Mangunan Fruit Garden look. I have been aspiring to visit places where we can have a view from the top of a hill. There was I, I could watch a view from the higher spot and laid my eyes to furthest sight.
From the view spot, we could watch a river flowing through greens. This river is Oyo River, a branch of Opak River. It was a sunny day and no clouds so we could watch the view clearly. I love how I could even watch the people driving motorbikes along the road that parallels to the river. Since the road was not really wide, they looked like a little thing gliding through a black narrow path. I really love the view here I could watch it all day. Although the sun was high and I hardly open my eyes, I had really much fun being here. It was so calming to just watch view from the heights. I could capture the horizon and throw my sight to every spot that I could catch.
Later, we took some rest and get some thing to eat. We bought meatballs and drank coconut water. It was such a great trip. We got back to Giwangan Bus Station and were headed to my sister's place by TransJogja.
